Finding Your Spot
Every Couple Experiences Amsterdam Differently

How We Choose
The Right Place, the Right Moment
For some couples, a romantic walk through Vondelpark is the highlight of their trip: the serene Rose Garden, the charming Blue Tea House or one of our hidden spots away from the crowds. Others dream of a private boat on the Prinsengracht, with the canal houses as backdrop.
For couples enchanted by flowers, the tulip fields in April are a dream come true. For something traditional, the windmills of Zaanse Schans are especially magical at sunset. And a proposal on one of Amsterdam’s bridges, followed by dinner at a top restaurant, is timeless.
Public canals and parks are beautiful, but complete privacy is never guaranteed. That is why we consider foot traffic, light and travel time when recommending your location, and we time it to capture the most beautiful moment. Tell us where you are staying and the atmosphere you love, and we will prepare a clear plan.

12 Romantic Spots
The Most Romantic Places to Propose in Amsterdam
Beyond the classic settings, these are the twelve places we recommend most, each with our honest tip on timing and crowds.
Amstel River
Magere Brug, the Skinny Bridge
The white wooden drawbridge over the Amstel is the most romantic bridge in the city, especially after dark when it is outlined with hundreds of small lights. Insider tip: come just after sunset, when the lights switch on and the river turns deep blue.
Canal Belt
Reguliersgracht, the Seven Bridges
From the corner of Reguliersgracht and Herengracht you can look straight through seven arched bridges in a row. It is one of the most photographed views in Amsterdam, and one of the most beautiful at night. Insider tip: early morning is quiet; evening is magical.
Jordaan
Brouwersgracht
The old brewers’ canal is lined with warehouses, houseboats and bicycles: calm, authentic and wonderfully photogenic. Insider tip: perfect for a relaxed walk that ends with the question.
Canal Belt
The Golden Bend of the Herengracht
The grandest canal houses in the city, built for merchants in the 17th century. Elegant, classic and quiet on weekday mornings. Insider tip: combine it with a stay in one of the canal palace hotels nearby.
Amstel River
Blauwbrug
An ornate bridge with lanterns and crowns, with views over the Amstel towards the Skinny Bridge. A romantic stop on an evening walk. Insider tip: pair it with dinner along the river.
Museum Quarter
The Rijksmuseum Gardens
The free gardens around the Rijksmuseum feel like a secret: roses, sculptures and fountains, steps away from Museumplein. Insider tip: mornings in spring and summer are the most beautiful.
Vondelpark
The Rose Garden in Vondelpark
Hidden in the middle of the park, the rose garden is at its best from June to September. Quiet benches, soft light and green all around. See the Vondelpark proposal.
Plantage
Hortus Botanicus
One of the oldest botanical gardens in the world, founded in 1638, with glass houses full of palms and tropical plants. Intimate and unexpected, and lovely in every season.
Amsterdam Noord
A’DAM Lookout
A rooftop high above the IJ with views over the whole city, and the famous swing over the edge. Exciting rather than quiet. See our rooftop proposals.
Oost
De Gooyer Windmill
A real Dutch windmill inside the city, right next to a local brewery. The easiest way to propose with a windmill without leaving Amsterdam. For the classic windmill village, see Zaanse Schans.
Jordaan
Bloemgracht
The “flower canal” is one of the narrowest and prettiest in the Jordaan, with gabled houses and few tourists. Insider tip: a beautiful start for a private canal boat proposal.
Near Amsterdam
A Private Tulip Field
In April and early May, nothing compares to a field of tulips reserved just for the two of you, 30 to 45 minutes from the city. See the tulip field proposal.

What is the most popular place to propose in Amsterdam?
Vondelpark is our most requested location, followed by the canals. In spring, the private tulip fields near Amsterdam are the most popular choice of all.
How private will our proposal be?
It depends on the location and timing. A private boat, rooftop or tulip field gives you the most privacy. In public places we plan around foot traffic and choose the quietest time and spot.
Can we combine the proposal with dinner?
Yes. Many couples celebrate with dinner at one of Amsterdam’s top restaurants, or with a private dinner set up at the proposal location.
When will we receive our photos?
Within 48 hours. Whichever location you choose, we plan it carefully around your stay and capture the moment in magazine-quality images, so you can relive an unforgettable experience almost straight away.
